Where to Eat in Mykonos Town: The Advanza Guide

Marialena StefoudiOctober 8, 20266 min read

From hidden courtyards and traditional ouzeris to sunset tables, late-night dining and serious fine food, Chora has one of the most varied restaurant scenes on the island.

Mykonos Town is compact enough to explore on foot, but the dining options vary enormously. One alley can lead to a tiny Greek table, the next to a polished international restaurant, and a few minutes later you can be eating beside the water in Little Venice.

The smartest way to choose is not simply to ask, “What is the best restaurant?”

Ask instead: What kind of evening do I want?

For Modern Greek: M-eating

Hidden in a traditional Mykonian building in the heart of Chora, M-eating remains one of the strongest choices for travellers who care about the food as much as the setting.

Chef-owner Panagiotis Menardos focuses on Mediterranean and local flavours, with a menu that reinterprets Greek comfort food in a more contemporary way. The intimate setting makes it especially suited to a long dinner rather than a quick stop.

BEST FOR
Food lovers · Couples · Long dinners · Modern Greek cuisine

ADVANZA TAKE
Come here when the meal itself is the plan.

For a Mykonos Night Out: Nōema

If dinner is only the beginning of the evening, Nōema is one of Chora’s most distinctive options.

Tucked into the backstreets of town, its courtyard moves naturally from dinner into music and late-night energy. The food is rooted in Cycladic ingredients and traditional techniques, with dishes designed for sharing and cooking methods that include open fire, curing and slow roasting. It currently operates nightly from 20:00 to 01:00.

BEST FOR
Friends · Stylish dinners · Groups · Dinner that turns into drinks

ADVANZA TAKE
Book this when you do not want to decide where to go after dinner.

For Sunset & Little Venice: Kastro’s

For one of the classic Mykonos settings, Kastro’s sits in an 18th-century building in Little Venice with views towards the windmills and sunset.

It has been operating in Mykonos Town since 1976 and serves Greek dishes with broader international influences.

BEST FOR
Couples · First-time visitors · Sunset · Little Venice atmosphere

ADVANZA TAKE
The setting is the reason to come. Time your reservation around golden hour.

For Dinner Literally Beside the Sea: Katerina’s

Also in Little Venice, Katerina’s Restaurant & Cocktail Bar offers something very Mykonos: tables right beside the water with views towards the windmills.

The restaurant focuses on Greek-Mediterranean cuisine, while the cocktail bar upstairs has operated since 1991. The venue currently lists daily opening hours from 09:00 to 03:00.

BEST FOR
Sea views · Cocktails · Casual romantic dinners · Little Venice

ADVANZA TAKE
Come early enough to enjoy the view before darkness takes over.

For Honest Greek Seafood: Baboulas Ouzeri

Not every meal in Mykonos needs to be polished fine dining.

At the Old Port, Baboulas Ouzeri has spent more than 30 years leaning into traditional Greek food, fresh fish and an intentionally relaxed, local feeling. Its 2026 menu includes seafood, classic dips, grilled fish, mussels, calamari and Greek wines. It is currently open daily from 16:00 to midnight.

BEST FOR
Seafood · Greek food · Groups · Casual dinners

ADVANZA TAKE
One of the better choices when you want Mykonos to feel a little less performative.

For Japanese: Matsuhisa Mykonos

Inside the Belvedere Hotel, Matsuhisa remains one of the island’s established high-end dining names.

The restaurant combines Nobu Matsuhisa’s Japanese style with Peruvian and European influences, while also using Greek fish and seafood. Signature dishes include black cod, yellowtail jalapeño and rock shrimp alongside seasonal Aegean specials. Belvedere Hotel Mykonos

For the 2026 season, Belvedere listed Matsuhisa as operating through mid-September, so seasonal dates should always be checked before booking. belvederemykonoshotels.reserve-online.net

Choose it when you want a familiar international name but still want to stay in Chora.

For French Riviera Energy: LPM Mykonos

Set at Anandes Hotel, above Mykonos Town, LPM Mykonos is the choice for a more polished, Riviera-style evening.

The restaurant serves French-Mediterranean cuisine with seafood, meat, pasta and classic LPM dishes, alongside a strong cocktail programme and panoramic views over Chora. The 2026 season has now ended; its listed dining hours during operation were 19:00–23:30. LPM RESTAURANT & BAR

For Greek Food with a Contemporary Edge: NOA

NOA takes familiar Greek flavours and presents them with a more contemporary approach.

Its menu remains rooted in Greek gastronomy, with dishes such as tzatziki, taramosalata, pastitsio, tomato fritters and grilled meats alongside more modern additions. Noa

Greek cuisine · Couples · Visitors wanting traditional flavours in a refined setting

ADVANZA TAKE
A good middle ground between traditional taverna and modern restaurant.

For Brunch That Can Become Drinks: Soulmates

For daytime, Soulmates Mykonos is a completely different kind of recommendation.

Located in the heart of Chora, it serves breakfast until 16:00, with house-made sourdough, egg dishes, bowls, pastries, smoothies and coffee, then moves into meze and cocktails later in the day. It currently lists opening hours of 08:00 to 02:00 and operates without reservations.

BEST FOR
Breakfast · Brunch · Casual lunch · Coffee · Easy-going drinks

ADVANZA TAKE
One of the easiest places to keep in your back pocket when you do not want to plan ahead.

For Italian Comfort Food: Casa di Giorgio

If you need a break from Greek food, Casa di Giorgio has been serving Italian food in Chora since 1970.

Its current menu centres on Italian classics and wood-fired pizzas made from dough rested for 48 hours. The restaurant lists daily hours from 11:00 to 01:00.

The Advanza Tip

In July and August, do not leave your important dinners until the last minute.

For places such as Nōema, M-eating, Matsuhisa or LPM, reserve ahead, especially if you want a specific time or table.

But leave at least one evening unplanned.

Some of the best nights in Chora start by walking through the lanes, finding somewhere you like the look of and staying longer than expected.
